Techniques
Hedge Trimming
Hedge trimming is the act of trimming the tops of the mangroves down to form a hedge shape. This creates view over the mangroves, and the mangrove hedge will grow more dense with repeated trimming.
Bonsai Trimming
We have incorporated the trimming techniques from the ancient Japanese art of Bonsai into our mangrove trimming. We use these techniques to create balance and focal points.
Vista Trimming
Vista trimming, or "windowing" as it is sometimes called, is a technique we use to create a window or vista through tall mangroves. We selectively remove limbs to open a desirable water view. This technique allows us to use trimmed mangroves to maintain a buffer for undesirable views.
New Planting
We are also able to install new plantings to create balance, focal points, and hide undesirable views.
Crown Lifting
Crown lifting is the removal of low hanging limbs to raise the lower level of the crown. This allows us to create a view underneath taller mangroves.
